Hello everyone. First off, I want to thank EVERYONE who responded to my last post about my upcoming wisdom tooth extraction, I was glad to hear from other people who have been through the experience. It's 48 hours away, and I'm really starting to panic, lol, but I hope I will do alright. It is the anesthesia and after care that I am most worried about. Does anyone know how long I will be laid up for approximately? I forgot to ask that question before?

Ok, my new question is, My oral surgeon told me to take Ibuprofin 200mg every six hours 2 days prior to surgery, and Vitamin c 250 mg 4 times daily 2 days prior to surgery and at least 3 days after. Does anyone know why this might be? I didn't have a chance to ask him myself, and I started taking them both this morning, I just didn't really know WHY I was taking them. any help is appreciated =) Thanks everyone!!

    • Ibuprofen is an antiinflammatory so your dentist might want you to take that to help with any inflammation that may come with the surgery.. As for the vitamin C I am really not sure why he would tell you to take that. I know vitamic C is good for the immune system. You could probably give your oral surgeon a call to ask yourself. He could give you the best answer.

As for the actual procedure itself I am sure you'll be fine. I have never had it done myself, but I have a feeling I am going to soon. I know a lot of people who have had it and everything came out all right with every single one of them. Don't panic. As I said, I am sure you will be fine.
